Renu married Chiranjeevi younger brother Pawan Kalyan. They have a two years old son named Akira. Kalyan who was married to Nandini earlier is heading his brother's youth wing, Yuva Rajyam.

In 2000, she starred in Puri Jagannath's Badri where she worked with stars like Pawan Kalyan, Ameesha Patel and Prakash Raj. Her next film Johnny (2003) was her husband's home production where Renu played Gitanjali opposite Pawan Kalyan
(Johnny).
Designing
Renu is a very good designer. She was the costume designer for movies like Khushi (2001) and Johnny (2003). Renu handled the Costume and Wardrobe Department for other Pawan Kalyan movies like Gudumba Shankar (2004), Bangaram (2006) and Annavaram (2006).
